MAKE IT MONDAY #237: MATCHBOOK VALENTINES

Hello!

I am stopping in today with a few cards I made for this week's Make it Monday Challenge over at Papertrey Ink. I usually don't make Valentine's Day cards but I had planned on giving my daughter's ballet teachers a little something for Valentine's Day and I though these cards would be perfect!

My daughter is 3 years old and her ballet class has a teacher and two assistants. She is the first class on Saturday mornings and her teachers always walk in with a Tim Horton's coffee so I wanted to get them each a Tim Horton's gift card. I made my Matchbook Valentines to hold a gift card.

Here it is:

I started by cutting some hearts from my PTI Happy Hearts Coverplate and covering the hearts in Glossy Accents. I cut my card base from Pure Poppy ensuring a gift card would fit inside. I added my SSS sentiment and then once the hearts were dry, I added them to my card, popping the middle one up with some dimensional adhesive.

I made all three the same, here they are:

I hope they like them! Thanks for stopping by!

  1. What a great idea to use these for a gift card! These are so darn cute! And seeing the "sending" die makes me want to pull mine out and use it.

  6. Very sweet. Any person would be thrilled to get this cutie. I just discovered this matchbook card technique and I have to admit, I'm rather obsessed. This is a design that meets all my criteria, 1) easy to make, 2) can go crazy with embellishments and colors 2) makes a nifty inexpensive little treat 4) can be adapted to any occasion 5) can be made in any size. See what I mean? :)
