JANUARY 2016 BLOG HOP CHALLENGE

Hello,

Today is Papertrey Ink's January Blog Hop. This month we were given this photo from which to draw our inspiration:

January inspiration

And here is what I came up with:

I decided to pull out my PTI Modern Cross Coverplate to make a background using Hawaiian Shores and Enchanted Evening cardstock. I added some die cuts from Bubble Talk and a sentiment from my PTI Hooray Stamp Set. Lastly, I added some Glossy Accents to the heart.

Also, since I cut two card bases to make the background, I made another card using the contrasting colors:

MAKE IT MONDAY #237: MATCHBOOK VALENTINES

Hello!

I am stopping in today with a few cards I made for this week's Make it Monday Challenge over at Papertrey Ink. I usually don't make Valentine's Day cards but I had planned on giving my daughter's ballet teachers a little something for Valentine's Day and I though these cards would be perfect!

My daughter is 3 years old and her ballet class has a teacher and two assistants. She is the first class on Saturday mornings and her teachers always walk in with a Tim Horton's coffee so I wanted to get them each a Tim Horton's gift card. I made my Matchbook Valentines to hold a gift card.

Here it is:

I started by cutting some hearts from my PTI Happy Hearts Coverplate and covering the hearts in Glossy Accents. I cut my card base from Pure Poppy ensuring a gift card would fit inside. I added my SSS sentiment and then once the hearts were dry, I added them to my card, popping the middle one up with some dimensional adhesive.

I made all three the same, here they are:

I hope they like them! Thanks for stopping by!

CREATE ALONG WITH US: JANUARY 2016

Hello!

I am stopping in with my first post for 2016. Last year I did not post nearly as much as I did in 2014 so I hope to do better this year!

I love being able to pick a project that inspires me for this challenge. This little bag by Danielle caught my eye:

I decided to make a card using a similar color scheme. Here it is:

I pulled out a piece of Simple Stories patterned paper for my base as well as my Winter Woods stamps and dies (which I am using for the first time!) I added some twine and enamel dots as well. I attempted to add a sentiment to the front, but could not find a spot for it that I liked so I stamped one inside instead.
