PAPERTREY INK MAKE IT MONDAY #261: USING FLORALS ON A MASCULINE PROJECT

Hello,

I am actually stopping in with a second card for the day. I had some time to put away my most recent PTI order which included my new Stylized Autumn stamps and dies.  I couldn't resist trying out the cute fox in this set so I decided to make a quick card for this week's MIM.

The leaves, flowers, fox and sentiment are all from PTI's Stylized Autumn. I finished it off with some twine.

I really love this month's color scheme. I pulled out my PTI Winter Woods stamps and dies and started by embossing the branch and leaves in white and gold. I added a little bird and a sentiment from PTI's Cup of Cheer. Lastly, I added some twine and popped up my card on a white card base.

First card for the holidays done! Enjoy the rest of the hop!

CREATE ALONG WITH US: SEPTEMBER 2016

Hello,

It`s hard to believe it has been almost 4 months since I created something. I had hoped to spend time in my craft room this summer but we were just too busy. I`m glad to be back!

I was inspired by this card by Nichole Heady:

Heaven & Nature Sing Card

And here is my card:

I used my PTI Songbirds stamps and dies as well as my PTI Words of Comfort stamp set. I blended some distress ink on my linen paper and added some PPP sequins.

MAKE IT MONDAY #250: MASKED BACKGROUNDS

Hello,

I had time this past weekend to make one more card for this week's MIM over at Papertrey Ink.

Here it is:

I masked off the edge with some Painter's Tape and then I inked up the background with 3 different Distress Inks. I pulled out my PTI Pedal Pushers stamps and dies, Cloud dies and Picket Fence die to create this little scene. I also tried flicking some water droplets on my card but I wasn't thrilled with the result....I feel like it just looks like I dropped water on it! Not sure I will try it again :)

I didn't have any room for a sentiment so I just added it to the inside:

PAPERTREY INK MAY 2016 BLOG HOP CHALLENGE

Hello,

It has been quite awhile since I have had time to make a card but I finally got around to it this past weekend. It was a long weekend here in Canada and the weather in Calgary was cold and rainy so I was able to carve out a little time to make a card! I loved this month's inspiration and was excited to pull out my PTI Summer Sweetness stamps and dies.

Here is the inspiration:

And here is my card:

My niece is turning 10 next week and so I made this card for her birthday. I inked up the background with some Distress Inks and then I diecut and stamped the popsicles in a variety of PTI and SU inks. I added Glossy Accents to each one, then once they were dry, I popped them up on some dimensionals and added them to my card. Lastly, I added the sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Baked With Love stamp set.

MAKE IT MONDAY #242: SPONGED STAMPING

Hello,

I always feel like I am stopping in last minute to share my card for this week's MIM. Mostly because I usually don't get time to craft during the week so I usually try to make a card on Sunday and post it after the kids are in bed....oh well, at least I still found time to play this week!

I have my bookclub meeting tomorrow and my friend is hosting it at her new house. So, I decided to make a card for the occasion. I used my PTI Putting Down Roots stamps and dies. Here is my card:

I inked up the bottom of the plant with some SU Gumball Green then sponged on some SU Old Olive. I use some PTI Bitty Dots patterned paper and added some Glossy Accents to the pot. Lastly, I added the sentiment in PTI Tropical Teal and rounded the bottom corners.

MAKE IT MONDAY #240: WATERCOLOR RESIST

Hello,

I am stopping in to share my card for this week's MIM. I had some rubber cement in my stash so I thought I might as well give it a try. I have not done much watercoloring but I have a few Zig markers so I pulled them out for this technique.

Here is my card:

I used red and orange watercolor markers and my PTI Ruby Rose stamps and dies. I also used my Lil' Inkers Instant Camera Die and the sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

Have a great week!

Hello,

Today is Papertrey Ink's February Blog Hop. This month we were given this photo from which to draw our inspiration:

I think this is a gorgeous photo but I had a difficult time coming up with something I was happy to share. I decided to draw upon the layers and color palette for my card. Here it is:

I used my PTI Songbird stamps and dies, Scribbled Circles Dies, Doubled Ended banner dies and Words of Comfort stamp set. I finished it off with with some PPP Sparkling Clear Sequins.

MAKE IT MONDAY #239: CUSTOMIZING PATTERNED PAPER

Hello,

This week's MIM was to customize a piece of patterned paper. This is harder than it sounds and I went through a couple pieces of paper before I came up with something I liked. Here is my card:

I cut a bunch of tiny circles using a die from my PTI Clipsters set and then stamped the little succulent, (or is it a flower?)....from my PTI Putting Down Roots set. I added these to my patterned paper.  This patterned paper reminded me of one of the many tablecloths my mom has (although hers are usually all beige or all white).

Then, I pulled out my Foodie Fun set and stamped the little dish and added the "thank you" from my KIS set of the same name.

We are going over to a friend's house for supper next week and I thought this would go well with a hostess gift. I was thinking of some gourmet flavored salt from my favorite spice company....what do you think?

Papertrey Ink 9th Anniversary -Day 10: Paper Crafting Alphabet

Hello,

I am stopping in with my last creation for PTI's 9th Anniversary. I was excited to try today's alphabet challenge. My first name instructed me to:

M- Mix two stamp sets
E - Use an emboss resist technique
G- Add a touch of gold
A - Add a border
N - Try a new product (something you have purchased but have not used)

First I had to google what "emboss resist" was I as I am not very technique savvy, but after I saw what it was, I decided to give it a try and came up with this:

I had recently purchased some new white embossing powder so I used this for my emboss resist technique. I sponged some yellow ink over the embossed flower and use both my PTI Ruby Rose and Sentiment Splits stamps. I added a yellow strip of patterned paper as my border and some gold sequins as my "touch of gold".

I hope you have enjoyed this year's anniversary challenges as much as I have!

Papertrey Ink 9th Anniversary - Day 8: Color Pop Fortune Teller

Hello,

I printed out the Fortune Teller for this challenge and the colors I ended up with were: Hawaiian Shores, Blueberry Sky and Spring Rain. While I often use Hawaiian Shores I rarely use these other two blues so I decided to make a quick Easter Tag for my son. Here it is:

I cut a PTI Tag then used my PTI Hippity Hoppity stamps and dies. I added some Glossy Accents to the little egg and some twine from my stash.

Papertrey Ink 9th Anniversary - Day 5: Sampler Square Challenge

Hello,

I will be stopping in today to add the rest of my projects for PTI's Anniversary challenges.

Day 5 challenged us to create a card with 9 squares altered in different ways. This was very hard for me as the size of card and style are out of my comfort zone but here is what I came up with:

I used my PTI Happy Hearts Coverplate and stamps for this card. Here is how I altered each one:

1- Added Wink of Stella Glitter
2- Heat embossed
3-Rock and Roll technique
4 - Colored with Copics
5- Embossing paste
6-Watercolored with Zig markers
7- Stamped
8- Stamped on a diecut
9 - Added Glossy Accents

Papertrey Ink 9th Anniversary - Day 3: Grab & Craft Challenge

Hello,

Today's challenge was to create a project with supplies that we gather within 5 minutes. I immediately thought of my PTI Zappy Birthday stamps and dies as well as some coordinating paper and ink. Since this set already has a popular color palette, it was easy to figure out what I needed!  I made this card for a little three year old boy. We are celebrating his birthday tomorrow. I hope he likes it!

Papertrey Ink 9th Anniversary -Day 2: Dress Up Inspiration

Hello,

I am participating in PTI's 9th Anniversary challenges so I will be stopping in several times this weekend to share my projects..... so let's get started! This challenge inspired us to create a card from a piece of clothing. I went to Pinterest and typed in "Gymboree" as this is one of my favorite children's clothing stores. My plan was to create a birthday card for a three year old girl as we will be celebrating her birthday (and her twin brother's birthday) tomorrow.

I picked this image as my inspiration:

Penguin Striped Tee at Gymboree (Gymboree 3m-5T):

And then I created this card:

First I cut some Sweet Blush and White cardstock into strips. Then I diecut some pieces from my RC and SSS dies. I used my PTI Tremendous Treats stamps to stamp my image and sentiment which I embossed in gold.  Lastly, I colored the cupcake in with some clear Wink of Stella Glitter.

Papertrey Ink 9th Anniversary- Day 1: DT Favorites

Hello,

I love the creative challenges during PTI's anniversary celebration and I hope to participate in as many as I can. For Day 1, we were challenged to choose a favorite color combo from the Design Team and create a project. There were so many beautiful color combinations but I decided to pick this one from Kay Miller:

Kay's-colors

And here is my card:

I used my Hooray Stamp Set and stamped everything on some White Linen cardstock. I them trimmed this down and adhered it to a Sweet Blush cardbase. I finished it off with a few tiny clear sequins from PPP.

I hope to be back again soon!

MAKE IT MONDAY #238: VALENTINE OMBRE STAMPING

Hello!

This week's challenge inspired me to make some little Valentine's day treats for my kids who are 3 and 5 years old. My crafting time has been limited this week but I was able to get these done by doing little bits here and there!

I decided to finally use my Silhouette Cameo which I have barely touched since getting it over a year ago. I cut out these tiny milk cartons and filled them with chocolates. I used my PTI Happy Hearts Coverplate to cut out the hearts and stamped them using the coordinating stamp set in an Ombre pattern. I added a sentiment from my MFT Gift Tag Greetings Stamp set and tied it on with some twine from my stash.

I cut out several more milk cartons and hope to get some more of them decorated for my co-workers. Wish me luck!

JANUARY 2016 BLOG HOP CHALLENGE

Hello,

Today is Papertrey Ink's January Blog Hop. This month we were given this photo from which to draw our inspiration:

January inspiration

And here is what I came up with:

I decided to pull out my PTI Modern Cross Coverplate to make a background using Hawaiian Shores and Enchanted Evening cardstock. I added some die cuts from Bubble Talk and a sentiment from my PTI Hooray Stamp Set. Lastly, I added some Glossy Accents to the heart.

Also, since I cut two card bases to make the background, I made another card using the contrasting colors:

MAKE IT MONDAY #237: MATCHBOOK VALENTINES

Hello!

I am stopping in today with a few cards I made for this week's Make it Monday Challenge over at Papertrey Ink. I usually don't make Valentine's Day cards but I had planned on giving my daughter's ballet teachers a little something for Valentine's Day and I though these cards would be perfect!

My daughter is 3 years old and her ballet class has a teacher and two assistants. She is the first class on Saturday mornings and her teachers always walk in with a Tim Horton's coffee so I wanted to get them each a Tim Horton's gift card. I made my Matchbook Valentines to hold a gift card.

Here it is:

I started by cutting some hearts from my PTI Happy Hearts Coverplate and covering the hearts in Glossy Accents. I cut my card base from Pure Poppy ensuring a gift card would fit inside. I added my SSS sentiment and then once the hearts were dry, I added them to my card, popping the middle one up with some dimensional adhesive.

I made all three the same, here they are:

I hope they like them! Thanks for stopping by!

CREATE ALONG WITH US: JANUARY 2016

Hello!

I am stopping in with my first post for 2016. Last year I did not post nearly as much as I did in 2014 so I hope to do better this year!

I love being able to pick a project that inspires me for this challenge. This little bag by Danielle caught my eye:

I decided to make a card using a similar color scheme. Here it is:

I pulled out a piece of Simple Stories patterned paper for my base as well as my Winter Woods stamps and dies (which I am using for the first time!) I added some twine and enamel dots as well. I attempted to add a sentiment to the front, but could not find a spot for it that I liked so I stamped one inside instead.
