It is a gorgeous day here....we have almost no snow left! I am off to finish making some homemade turkey soup and Frozen Butter Biscuits (From Chef Michael Smith). They are very yummy if you have never tried them!

Make It Monday #198: Three Panel Cards

Hello,

I made a card for this week's Make it Monday. Here it is:

I found this type of card to be quite challenging and a few went in the trash before I came up with something I liked. I used some Echo Park patterned paper along with my PTI Fillable Frame stamp set and my PS Sentiment Sampler stamp set. I mounted everything on some PTI Vintage Cream cardstock.

Papertrey Ink January Blog Hop

Hello!

Today is the PTI January Blog Hop and I am just getting a chance to post my card....it has been a busy weekend!

Here is this month's inspiration:

January-2015-PTI-Blog-Hop

I decided to make a Valentine's card for my hubby and went for more of a masculine look. Here it is:

I used my PTI Happy Hearts stamps and coverplate. I die cut the hearts, stamped them with some Versamark and then brushed them with some red chalk. I have never used chalk before but had bought some MANY years ago and decided to give it a try! I stamped the sentiment in the middle and mounted everything on some Echo Park patterned paper.

JANUARY SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY

Hello,

Have you seen this month's Reverse Confetti SFYTT? Here it is:

SFYTT20_Jan15

And here is my card:

I started putting these colors together and thought it would be great for my niece's 9th birthday. Her birthday isn't until June but since that little nine fit so perfectly in the little circle I figured I might as well go with it! I used tons of Reverse Confetti Confetti Cuts including: Love Notes, Circle Garland Pretty Panel, Circles and Scallops and Tag Me. I also used my Label Me stamp set. I have been really enjoying making square cards lately, this one is 4.25 x 4.25. I have also been trying to find a good location in my house to take pictures...this one is in my kids playroom, I think it turned out pretty good!

CAS(E) this Sketch #106

Hello,

I am playing along with this week's CASE this sketch. Here is the our sketch:

And here is my card:

I flipped the sketch on it's side and stamped these monsters from Lawn Fawn's Monster Mash in a variety of SU inks. We have had lots of kid birthday parities lately and I thought it would be good to have a few cards on hand. I added a strip of patterned paper that happened to be lying on my desk and wiggled the sentiment into a blank space on the bottom.

I hope you are having a good week! I just registered my oldest for kindergarten starting in September.....eek! Time flies!

Freshly Made Sketches and My first Copic Coloring!

Hello!

I had a chance to make a card this morning while the kids played downstairs...it was nice! I decided to play along with this week's Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. We have a birthday party for a family friend who is turning two next weekend so I decided to make a card for him.

Here is this week's sketch:

And here is my card:

I pulled out my PTI Trucki' It stamps and dies and decided to give Copic coloring a try. I recently purchased 10 markers as I wanted to make sure I liked coloring before I purchased more markers. I have always loved the way colored images look but was unsure if I could achieve anything close to what I have seen so many others do. I know this is far from perfect, but I am happy with my first try!

I used my three red markers (R24, R29 and R39) to color the fire truck. I also used a  Lil' Inkers Stitched Circle and a PTI Double Ended banner which I trimmed and finished off with a tiny clothes pin. Everything is mounted on a piece of Echo Park Patterned paper.

Well it is just about time to put my little one for a nap. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Make It Monday #197: Homemade Foam Stickers

Hello!

I had a chance to watch PTI's Make it Monday video and after seeing it I was excited to participate. Laurie showed us how to make our own foam stickers using foam craft sheets or double sided foam adhesive. I had some foam sheets from the dollar store and so I got right to work! Here is my card:

My foam sheet was red so I decided to make some red letters. I diecut the PTI Bookprint Letters in both the red foam and some Pure Popply Cardstock. I mounted them on a diecut Scribbled Circle, that was cut from Berry Sorbet Cardstock and also added the "birthday" sentiment from PTI's KIS Birthday. The birthday sentiment was stamped in Versamark and then embossed in black on a velum banner. Lastly, I added everything to some Echo Park patterned paper and finished it off with some enamel dots.

I had bought these alphabet dies to use in my pocket scrapbooking but had not yet used them, So, I am linking this card up to a "new to me challenge" called NBUS.  Head over to check out the challenge and Darnell's supercute craft house!

Never-Before-Used-Schtuff (Stamps, Dies, EFs, etc.)

Well, I guess that is all! I am off to watch some Parenthood. I quickly went through all 5 seasons on Netflix and am now watching Season 6 on VOD. It's a great show, so sad it will be over this year!

Make It Monday #196: Colorful Card Corners

Hello!

I am popping in with a card I made for this week's Make it Monday. This week we focused on moving the focal point of your card from the center to the corner. Here is what I came up with:

The balloons are from PTI's Birthday Style stamp set and the sentiment is from Tremendous Treats: birthday.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Cards For Mom

Hello,

My parents were recently here visiting and my mom asked me if I had any birthday cards for her to take home with her....can you believe I did not have any in my stash?! Luckily, I had time to make a quick set of cards for her to take with her before she left.

I used my PTI Uncorked stamps, dies and word dies. I also used PTI's KIS Birthday stamp set to stamp "happy birthday" inside each card. I made two of each card and here they are:

I also used PTI's White and Raspberry Fizz cardstock along with SU's Old Olive ink and Smokey Slate cardstock.

Retrosketches #147

Hello!

I am back! It has been a loooong time since I have had anything new to share as I have honestly not had anytime to get crafty! December was a very busy month but it seems like life is returning to normal. I had a bit of time to make a card yesterday and so I decided to play along with this week's Retrosketches  challenge.

Here is this week's sketch:

And here is my card:

I had been itching to give my new PTI Uncorked stamps and dies a try so I decided to make a card with them. They are really cute! I used PTI's White and Sweet Blush cardstock as well as SU's Smokey Slate cardstock. This grey color from SU is new to me and I just love it....it is already going fast! I diecut the banner using PTI's Wine Bottle Tag Die and just trimmed off the top. Lastly, I added some Sparking Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.
