Papertrey Ink November Blog Hop

Hello,

Today is PTI's November Blog Hop. This month we were given this gorgeous inspiration photo:

Blog Hop Inspiration

The blue and green color scheme on the white background inspired my card. Here it is:

I decided to use my PTI Comic Strip Coverplate as a starting point. I also used PTI's Cup of Cheer stamps and dies.....I love this set! Lastly, I added some sentiments from Paper Smooches Christmas Sampler Stamp set.

Well, I know you have lots more to see and probably lots of Thanksgiving prep to get to too! Even though I live in Canada, we will also be having a Thanksgiving feast tomorrow with some friends (my husband is American)! Can't wait!

MAKE IT MONDAY #228: PEARLIZED BLENDING

Hello!

I am popping in with a quick project for this week's MIM. To be honest, I tried this technique a few different times and had difficultly coming up with something I was happy with. I think it is because I only own gold Perfect Pearls so I found everything ended up looking a bit muddy. Luckily my five year old assured me it looked good:)

I used some Vintage Jadeite Ink and Hawaiian Shores Ink along with my Birthday Style stamps and dies and came up with this tag:

OCTOBER 2015 BLOG HOP

Hello,

Today is PTI's monthly blog hop and I loved this month's inspiration photo. Here it is:

Blog hop inspiration

These traditional colors are totally my style. While I also use many non-traditional color combos, red, green, white and gold are my go to!

I was hoping to get several different tags made but only got a few done. In any case, I am glad I got to join in!

Here are my projects:

And here is a closer look....

I used my Songbirds stamps and dies and embossed the leaves in gold. I also used my SU Christmas Tagables set for the sentiments.

For these ones I used my Ribbons Sliders stamps and dies. Again I heat embossed the sentiments.

Well I know there is lots more to see so thanks for visiting!

PTI Create Along With Us - October

Hello!

It has been several months since I have made a card or updated my blog. To be honest, life had just gotten really busy and it didn't leave much time for crafting.

I loved several projects from the latest release which inspired to me to make a card for a friend's upcoming baby shower,

I loved this card by Nichole Heady. I ordered both these stamps and dies as well the new Vintage Jadeite  ink....I can't wait for them to arrive!

Cup of Cheer Card

I used a similar layout for my card:

I used PTI's Tremendous Treats-Birthday to stamp the cute elephant that I colored with my Copics. The sentiment is from Avery Elle.

Thanks for coming for a visit, I hope to be back again sooner rather than later!

PAPERTREY INK JUNE 2015 BLOG HOP

Hello!

I am playing along with this month's blog hop over at PTI. This month we were given a cute photo from which to draw our inspiration, here it is:

Blog hop inspiration

I went with a pretty literal interpretation:

I started by cutting some strips of white and Smokey Shadow and adhering them to my cardbase. Then, I used my PTI Ruby Rose stamps and dies for the flowers. I heat embossed the cream colored flowers with some clear embossing powder and used some holographic embossing powder on the orange flower. The small sentiment is from Words of Comfort and then I finished it off by adding a decorative gem and enamel dot to the center of the flowers.

Blog Hop Inspiration

I was inspired by the cascading rainbow of blocks so I decided to pull out a few tiny stamps and stamp a quick background in a rainbow of colors. Here it is:

I used a couple small stamps from my PTI Songbirds and Ruby Rose sets. Next, I added a Songbird which I heat embossed with some clear embossing powder. I finished it off with some diecut leaves and a simple sentiment.

That's all from me today! Have a wonderful day!

I am popping in with a quick card I made for today's blog hop. I am in the process of moving my craft room so I decided to go CAS for today!

Here is the inspiration photo for this month:

Blog inspiration

And here is my card:

I was inspired by the cute polka dot table cloth in the picture so I pulled out some polka dot Lawn Fawn patterned paper for my background. I used my PTI Foodie Fun stamp set for the image and the sentiment, and the circle and scallop are from Reverse Confetti. I tried adding both buttons and twine to this but ultimately decided to leave it as is!

Have a great day!

A Little Update and This Week's MIM

Hello!

It seems I have been on a bit of blog break. Life has been busy! Between work, kids being sick, craft room renos and a card party I recently hosted, I have not had much creative time.

First off, I wanted to share some cards I made for a recent party I hosted for some friends. Several friends had asked me about card making so I decided to host an evening where they could try it out. Well, my little party soon turned into a big party and I ended up having 13 fabulous friends over to make cards.

Here are the cards we made:

Each guest made two of each of these three designs for a total of six cards (with envelopes). We added some fabulous snacks and rum punch to the mix and everyone had a great time! This was a lot of work as I prepped most of the cutting but it was totally worth it to enjoy something I love with so many friends.

I also wanted to pop in to share a card I made for this week's Make it Monday over at PTI.
I used my (new to me) Songbirds stamps and dies as well as several other PTI sets to create the confetti cluster background. I embossed the Songbird with some clear embossing powder and popped it up on some foam adhesive.

Lastly, we are in the process of transforming our current playroom into a family office/craft room and moving the kids playroom to the basement. Right now we are painting, installing hardwood floors and finalizing the plans for the custom desk spaces and shelving. I have been scouring Pinterest for design ideas and storage solutions. I promise to be back with pictures once it is complete!

FEBRUARY 2015 BLOG HOP CHALLENGE

Hello,

It is the 25th of the month meaning it is time for PTI's blog hop. This month was a busy one with all the anniversary festivities so we were simply given a photo from which to draw our inspiration. Here it is:

Blog Hop Inspiration

I thought about using one of my coverplates but in the end I decided to sponge on a background and then use my Pedal Pusher stamps and dies. Here is my card:

I diecut my bicycle then used my MISTI for the first time to stamp on the diecut. I have to say this tool made it super easy to line everything up and get a solid image. Love it! I added a white mat and put everything on a Soft Stone cardbase.

Usually my cards end up in a pile in my office, but I actually already  gave this card to a  friend who has been having a bit of a hard time. I hope it brightens her day!

Well, I know there is lots more to see! Have a wonderful day!

Thanks for stopping by!

Papertrey Ink Anniversary Days 7 & 8

Hello!

I am stopping in with my last two cards for the anniversary challenges over at PTI.

Day 7's challenge was a  Heavy Metal Challenge .The goal was  to create a project using only metallics and neutrals.

I used PTI's Wine Bottle tag for my starting point....here it is:

I used PTI's True Black as my neutral and added a Scribbled Circle diecut in some silver shimmer paper from my stash. I also used PTI's KIS Thank-you stamp set for my sentiment which  I embossed in gold. Lastly, I added a diecut wine bottle from PTI's Uncorked.

Day 8's challenge was a Blue Ombre Challenge

Our goal was to make a card using a variety of blue tones. Here is my card:

I used some scraps of patterned paper then used a circle die cut left over from  a PTI Wine Bottle Tag. Again, I used my KIS Thank-you stamp set and embossed the sentiment in gold. I am also linking this one up for this week's Retrosketches Challenge.

Well, that's all for this year's challenges (I think!). Tomorrow is the big release. I am looking forward to seeing the full reveal of all the fun stuff coming out!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Papertrey Ink Anniversary. Days 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5!

 Hello,

I finally had some time to make some cards for Papertrey Ink's Anniversary. My hubby was away for work giving me a little extra time to craft after the little ones were in bed. I have several cards to share so here we go!

Day 1 was a color/sketch challenge so here is the color combo and sketch I chose:

PTI8-color-inspiration-2

PTI8-sketch-inspiration-4

And here is my card:

I used my Heart to Heart #4 Stamps and Dies along with my PTI Double Ended Banner die. I also added a PTI Pure Poppy Button and some enamel dots from my stash.

Day 2 - Maile Belles Inspiration - easy enough right? I love her style and am so glad she is back this year as a stamp designer!

Here is my card:

I used my Bubble Talk stamps and dies for this CAS card. I hope Maile approves!

Day 3 - Today we are challenged to make a tag and add it to a bag,,,,I opted to add my tag to a bottle instead!

Here is my tag:

We are headed over to a friend's house  this weekend so I made a Wine Bottle tag using my PTI die along with my Uncorked stamps and my Tag Sale #5 die.

Day 4 - Build a Bouquet. This challenge was the most difficult for me as we are supposed to build a bouquet using more that one stamp set. Well, I have very few flower stamp sets so after searching though my stash I opted to use my Ruby Rose and Ruby Reprise stamps and dies along with my Scribbled Circle dies. The sentiment is from Big Ticket Basics.

Day 5 - Today we are supposed to use a stamp set that has never been used or been used very little. I have used all of my stamp sets (at least all my PTI ones) so I pulled out my Hippity Hoppity stamps and dies which I have only used once!

Here is my card:

Whew!! There are still four more days to go before the big anniversary release....I hope you are enjoying all the fun! Enjoy the rest of your week!

Papertrey Ink January Blog Hop

Hello!

Today is the PTI January Blog Hop and I am just getting a chance to post my card....it has been a busy weekend!

Here is this month's inspiration:

January-2015-PTI-Blog-Hop

I decided to make a Valentine's card for my hubby and went for more of a masculine look. Here it is:

I used my PTI Happy Hearts stamps and coverplate. I die cut the hearts, stamped them with some Versamark and then brushed them with some red chalk. I have never used chalk before but had bought some MANY years ago and decided to give it a try! I stamped the sentiment in the middle and mounted everything on some Echo Park patterned paper.

JANUARY SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY

Hello,

Have you seen this month's Reverse Confetti SFYTT? Here it is:

SFYTT20_Jan15

And here is my card:

I started putting these colors together and thought it would be great for my niece's 9th birthday. Her birthday isn't until June but since that little nine fit so perfectly in the little circle I figured I might as well go with it! I used tons of Reverse Confetti Confetti Cuts including: Love Notes, Circle Garland Pretty Panel, Circles and Scallops and Tag Me. I also used my Label Me stamp set. I have been really enjoying making square cards lately, this one is 4.25 x 4.25. I have also been trying to find a good location in my house to take pictures...this one is in my kids playroom, I think it turned out pretty good!

CAS(E) this Sketch #106

Hello,

I am playing along with this week's CASE this sketch. Here is the our sketch:

And here is my card:

I flipped the sketch on it's side and stamped these monsters from Lawn Fawn's Monster Mash in a variety of SU inks. We have had lots of kid birthday parities lately and I thought it would be good to have a few cards on hand. I added a strip of patterned paper that happened to be lying on my desk and wiggled the sentiment into a blank space on the bottom.

I hope you are having a good week! I just registered my oldest for kindergarten starting in September.....eek! Time flies!
