The Cutting Edge Challenge #13

Hello,

I recently bought a super cute set from Lawn Fawn called Milk and Cookies and have been dying to try it out. I pulled it out for this week's Cutting Edge Challenge.  Here is this week's inspiration photo from the super talented Kay:

And here is my card:

I used some Lil Inkers Stitched Circles and Squares dies as well as a banner die from Reverse Confetti. I also added the Christmas sentiment from my PTI KIS Christmas stamp set. The milk and cookies as well as the banner are popped up on some foam adhesive to give it some dimension. The patterned paper is from Fancy Pants and the red ink and paper is SU's Cherry Cobbler which is new to me....I really like it!

CAS(E) this Sketch #97

Hello,

I had a little crafty time this afternoon and have a card to share. I wanted to use my new Lawn Fawn Monster Mash stamps and dies so here is what I made:

I used my PTI Linen and Canvas Impression Plate to add some texture to the purple cardstock and the banner die is from Reverse Confetti. I decided to leave this one a bit simple as I was inspired by this sketch from this week's CASE this sketch

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop - take 4

Hello,

After seeing all the fantastic color combos for this month's hop I knew that I would have to use at least one with my PTI Modern Cross Quilt Coverplate. Here is what I came up with:

This is hands down my favorite coverplate! I used the colors from this sketch:

I placed the pieces in a random pattern and added a KIS Christmas sentiment on a double ended banner.

Well, as of right now that is all the projects I have for today. If I can sneak in some crafty time this afternoon I may be back with some more! Otherwise, it is date night tonight and we are planning to go see Gone Girl....I have heard it is good!

Papertrey ink Blog Hop - take 3

Hello,

This time I decided to use this color combo:

PTI-Oct-Blog-Hop-Color-5

To make this:

I used a PTI tag sale die that I cut from both Smokey Shadow and Soft Stone and layered together, as well as some die cut Snowflakes which are part of the Snow Globe Shaker dies. The sentiments, which are embossed in silver, are from Reverse Confetti.

Papertrey Ink October Blog Hop - take 2

Hello,

Here is another card I made for PTI's October Blog Hop:

This card was inspired by this color combo:

I used my PTI Snow Globe shaker die to create a little scene. The trees and falling snow (which were heat embossed with white embossing powder) are both from PTI's City Scene stamp set. The sentiment is from PTI's Pedal Pusher stamp set. The stitched hill is from Lawn Fawn and the cute little house and car are from Paper Smooches.

Papertrey Ink October Blog Hop

Hello!

Today is the 25th which means it is Papertrey Ink's Blog Hop! This month we were given several non traditional color combos to use to make holiday cards. I really liked these suggestions and made several projects. Here is the first one:

This card was inspired by this color combo and inspiration photo:

PTI-Oct-Blog-Hop-Color-1

I  diecut a variety of circles using a couple Lil Inkers Stitched Circle dies and then mounted them on a piece of glitter paper. The sentiment, which is embossed in black, is from PTI's KIS Christmas stamp set.

Retrosketches #136

Hello,

I made a card for this week's Retrosketches challenge. Here is our sketch:

And here is my card:

My starting point was this piece of patterned paper from Fancy Pants. I cut it with PTI's Tag Sale #5 and added it to my SU Island Indigo card base. I pulled out this Neat and Tangled Stamp set and used one of the stamps to make an epoxy embellishment (Heather Nichols described how to add glossy accents to a die cut piece of acetate then add the stamped piece behind it to make your own embellishment. Check it out here) and then added a sentiment which I embossed in white.

Make It Monday #183: Dry Embossing Over Heat Embossing

Hello,

It is Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada....Happy Thanksgiving! Since my husband is American I get to celebrate Thanksgiving twice a year! We are having a great weekend and I even had some time to make a card yesterday for this week's MIM.

Here it is:

I heat embossed the Christmas Trees (which are from an old SU set called Sparkling Christmas) in some Zing! Leaf embossing powder. I then dry embossed it with my PTI Linen and Canvas Impression Plate and added a sentiment from PTI's KIS Christmas.

Retrosketches #135

Hello!

This week's Retrosketches challenge was to pick any past sketch and create a card. I was itching to use my new PTI Shaker Shapes dies so after a quick scan of the different sketches I picked one that I figured would work for one of my new dies. I picked sketch #2, it looks like this:

I flipped the sketch upside down and made this:

I used this ornament die, stamped some details and a sentiment in the middle and added the Sparkle word that was diecut from some glitter paper. I embossed the panel in the background with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

CAS(E) this Sketch #95

Hello,

I made a card this week for the CASE this sketch challenge. Here is this week's sketch:

And here is my card:

I recently got a little stamp set from PTI that included this string of lights. I stamped it across the card about three times, added a Paper Smooches sentiment and some SSS diecut hearts. I love the little string of lights and how you can stamp the bulbs in any color you want....I think I will be using this stamp often!

I am also linking this up for this week's Paper Smooches Anything Goes Challenge.

Tag You're It! Challenge #7

Hello,

I am participating in this week's Tag You're It Challenge. Here is our inspiration:

I am still on a Christmas card kick over here and since I don't have many Christmas stamps I decided to pull out a VERY old set to make this card. I was first introduced to card making about ten years ago.....that essentially meant that I attended SU parties of a friend who was a demonstrator and bought stamps that I never used. I pulled out a set that I don't think has ever been inked up but I have kept it this long as I always thought it was so cute!

Here is my card:

I used a Little Inkers Stitched Rectangle die on some PTI Aqua Mist cardstock to create my cardbase. Then, I diecut two Reverse Confetti Tags and then stamped and fussy cut the little sweater from SU's very ancient set called Bundled Up. The sentiment that came in this set was too large for my card so I was lucky enough to find this Paper Smooches sentiment in my stash. Lastly, I added some ribbon and twine (from Michaels and Etsy respectively).

This "Bundled Up" set also has some cute mittens and a toque (winter hat) that I may have to use on some upcoming projects!
