Top 10 of 2014

Hello!

Well it has been awhile since I have been able to share a card but I will be back with something new soon! Time has just flown by! I attended a conference in Orlando in late November and as soon as I returned my husband traveled to Vancouver for work. Once he returned, he was busy studying for a big exam that he completed on December 6th. After that I was busy getting ready for the holidays and for my family to come visit. My parents arrived on December 14th and my brother and his family arrived on December 20th. We have been having a wonderful vacation!

So, with all that going on I have not had any time to papercraft.... but wanted to stop in and share some of my favorite cards from 2014.

Here are my top 10 favs in no particular order!

It has been about a year since I started this blog and I am so glad I did! I never thought I would be able to keep up with it but has been surprisingly easy and fun! I will be spending a bit more time with my family this week and then hope to be able to get back to crafting! I got both a box of crafty goodies and  a Silhouette for Christmas.....can't wait to put them to good use!

I hope you have a wonderful New Year! Thanks for visiting!

A little Christmas gift...

Hello!

It has been awhile since I have been in to share... life has been busy with not too much time to craft. I have been working on putting together a little gift of homemade cards for a gift exchange at work. We are supposed to buy/bring three of the same gift (something you love valued at about $10) for a  "Favorite Things" gift exchange.  I, of course, thought of stamping and decided to put together three little baskets.

I tried to take some pictures this afternoon but my camera was dead :( So I had to take pictures with my phone....sorry they are not the best.

I included 4 Christmas cards with envelopes, 2 Christmas tags, 1 gift card box and a berry basket.

Here are some photos:

( I cased the PTI City Scene card from Nichole Heady)

I bought some Wilton Cookie packaging from Winners which included some small cardboard cookie trays and perfect sized cellophane bags. I put some decorative tissue in the tray, added my basket on top and wrapped it up with a tag and some ribbon.

I will be busy baking this weekend and hopefully working on some more DIY gifts for my son's NINE teachers! (He attends a full day Montessori/daycare and there are lots of amazing staff in the classroom). I hope to be back to share!

Tag You're It! Challenge #10

Hello!

I made a tag for this week's Tag You're it Challenge

I was inspired by how the flowers on the inspiration tag were concentrated on one side. I decided to concentrate my images on one side as well...here is my tag:

For this tag, I stamped the images from Neat and Tangled Santa's Notes stamp set. I fussy cut the North Pole sign and added it to the tag with some dimensional adhesive. The snowflakes are embossed in white and I added some Glossy Accents to the the pole. The tag sentiments are from SU's Christmas Tagables stamp set.

Tomorrow I am off to Orlando for the ASHA Convention (an annual convention for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists). It is the first year I am attending and I am looking forward to spending time with some fabulous colleagues and taking in all the convention has to offer. It doesn't hurt that it will be in sunny Florida.....and that the closing ceremony is at Universal Studios!

Have a great week!

And here is my card:

I used some new SU patterned paper as well as some diecut banners and a sentiment from Paper Smooches. I was itching to add some embellishments but ultimately decided to leave it as is and show off the beautiful paper. I made three of these as I am planning to make some little baskets of homemade tags and gifts for a coworker Christmas gift exchange. I will be back to share my baskets of goodies once they are finally complete!

Tag You're It! Challenge #9

Hello,

I made a tag for this week's Tag You're It Challenge. The inspiration was from Leigh this week, here is the photo:

We got a ton of wet snow yesterday so I raced to take a picture of my tag while my hubby and little ones were outside making a snowman.....here is my tag:

I was inspired by Leigh's angled sentiment and decided to stamp some angled Christmas lights from PTI's Sparkle and Shine stamp set and added a sentiment from an SU set. After searching through my stash, I found this American Crafts ribbon.

I decided to make some cards and tags for a co-worker gift exchange. I made three of these as they are the first ones to add to my baskets. Hope my co-workers like them!

And here is my card:

I used some Lil Inkers Stitched Circles and Squares dies as well as a banner die from Reverse Confetti. I also added the Christmas sentiment from my PTI KIS Christmas stamp set. The milk and cookies as well as the banner are popped up on some foam adhesive to give it some dimension. The patterned paper is from Fancy Pants and the red ink and paper is SU's Cherry Cobbler which is new to me....I really like it!

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop - take 4

Hello,

After seeing all the fantastic color combos for this month's hop I knew that I would have to use at least one with my PTI Modern Cross Quilt Coverplate. Here is what I came up with:

This is hands down my favorite coverplate! I used the colors from this sketch:

I placed the pieces in a random pattern and added a KIS Christmas sentiment on a double ended banner.

Well, as of right now that is all the projects I have for today. If I can sneak in some crafty time this afternoon I may be back with some more! Otherwise, it is date night tonight and we are planning to go see Gone Girl....I have heard it is good!

This time I decided to use this color combo:

PTI-Oct-Blog-Hop-Color-5

To make this:

I used a PTI tag sale die that I cut from both Smokey Shadow and Soft Stone and layered together, as well as some die cut Snowflakes which are part of the Snow Globe Shaker dies. The sentiments, which are embossed in silver, are from Reverse Confetti.

This card was inspired by this color combo:

I used my PTI Snow Globe shaker die to create a little scene. The trees and falling snow (which were heat embossed with white embossing powder) are both from PTI's City Scene stamp set. The sentiment is from PTI's Pedal Pusher stamp set. The stitched hill is from Lawn Fawn and the cute little house and car are from Paper Smooches.

Retrosketches #136

Hello,

I made a card for this week's Retrosketches challenge. Here is our sketch:

And here is my card:

My starting point was this piece of patterned paper from Fancy Pants. I cut it with PTI's Tag Sale #5 and added it to my SU Island Indigo card base. I pulled out this Neat and Tangled Stamp set and used one of the stamps to make an epoxy embellishment (Heather Nichols described how to add glossy accents to a die cut piece of acetate then add the stamped piece behind it to make your own embellishment. Check it out here) and then added a sentiment which I embossed in white.
